Orange & Lemons is a Filipino indie pop and alternative rock band. Singer-songwriter and guitarist Clem Castro founded the group in 1999. He launched the group alongside drummer Ace Del Mundo. Ace’s brother JM del Mundo joined as the band’s founding bassist. Mcoy Fundales signed on as the group’s second vocalist from its official formation. Fundales remained a core member of the band until its initial run came to a close in 2007. The group’s musical style pulls from a wide range of complementary genres, weaving together alternative rock, indie pop, and experimental music to create a distinct, recognizable sound. Their work draws heavy influence from well-respected bands spanning multiple generations of global and local music. Those core influences include The Smiths, The Beatles, and the Eraserheads, three acts that shaped every stage of the band’s creative output across their career. The group released multiple studio albums across their initial decade as an active group.
