Orange & Lemons is a Filipino indie pop and alternative rock band. It formed in 1999. Singer-songwriter and guitarist Clem Castro launched the group alongside drummer Ace Del Mundo. Ace Del Mundo’s brother JM del Mundo joined on bass to complete the original core trio. Mcoy Fundales served as a former member of the band. He acted as second vocalist from the group’s formation until its last official gathering in 2007. The band’s core sound pulls from a mix of alternative rock, indie pop, and experimental music. It draws heavy influence from well-respected acts across multiple generations. Those acts include The Smiths, The Beatles, and the Eraserheads, all cited as foundational to the band’s creative identity. The group released several studio albums over the course of its career. It earned widespread commercial success with its sophomore album, Strike Whilst the Iron Is Hot, which launched in 2005. That album reached double platinum status, cementing the band’s place as a staple of Filipino popular music.
