Formed in 1999 by singer-songwriter and guitarist Clem Castro, who paired with drummer Ace Del Mundo and his brother JM del Mundo on bass to launch the group that would become one of the Philippines’ most enduring cross-genre pop acts, Orange & Lemons built a discography defined by fluid, boundary-blending sound that underpins the layered, multifaceted style of Hanggang Sa Paglagot Ng Hininga. The track pulls from a sprawling array of pop-forward genres that mirror the band’s long history of experimentation, weaving together electronic, folk, indie pop, Latin, orchestral pop, R&B, reggae, rock, and world music influences to create a work that aligns with the creative range the group has cultivated across their more than two decades of activity. From their earliest days, the lineup included former member Mcoy Fundales, who served as a second vocalist from the group’s formation all the way through its initial run that concluded in 2007.
