Orange & Lemons formed in 1999 by singer-songwriter and guitarist Clem Castro, alongside drummer Ace Del Mundo and his brother JM del Mundo on bass, built a creative legacy that would span decades of Filipino popular music, evolving from a small indie project to one of the country’s most enduring and critically celebrated acts. Original member Mcoy Fundales served as the group’s second vocalist from its formation, supporting the core creative trio through years of touring, recording, and artistic growth until the band’s first run came to a close in 2007. From the start, the group’s sound drew from a dynamic mix of alternative rock, indie pop, and experimental music, shaped heavily by cross-generational influences from well-respected acts spanning global icons like The Smiths and The Beatles, to local trailblazers the Eraserheads, a collective of inspirations that gave the band a distinct, layered sonic identity that set them apart from their peers early in their career.
