About this Song
Pop, the primary genre anchoring this Filipino recording Close To You, draws from the decades-long creative output of Orange & Lemons, the trailblazing group whose work has redefined what independent pop and rock can achieve in the Philippines and beyond. Founded in 1999 by singer-songwriter and guitarist Clem Castro, alongside drummer Ace Del Mundo and Ace’s brother JM del Mundo, who took up bass, the band built its early identity around a versatile blend of sounds that pulled from across the alternative spectrum, weaving together the tight, hook-driven energy of alternative rock, the warm, melodic core of indie pop, and the adventurous, rule-breaking edge of experimental music.
