Orange & Lemons is a Filipino indie pop and alternative rock band formed in 1999 by singer-songwriter and guitarist Clem Castro. Castro launched the group alongside drummer Ace Del Mundo and Ace’s brother JM del Mundo, who took on bass duties for the band’s early run. Former member Mcoy Fundales served as the group’s second vocalist from its formation until its initial hiatus in 2007. The band’s core musical style pulls from a wide range of cross-generational influences, drawing heavily from well-respected acts from around the world and the Philippines alike. Those influences include UK indie pioneers The Smiths, the timeless output of The Beatles, and iconic Filipino rock band the Eraserheads. Orange & Lemons merged those varied inspirations into a distinct mix of alternative rock, indie pop, and experimental music that resonated with both local audiences and critics across their career.
