A decade of quiet separated the band’s 2007 split and their long-awaited return to recording and performing, a milestone that capped years of individual creative exploration that allowed the core members to reunite on shared creative ground. What began in 1999 as a project spearheaded by singer-songwriter and guitarist Clem Castro, who teamed up with drummer Ace Del Mundo and bassist JM del Mundo, Ace’s brother, grew from a small local act to one of the Philippines’ most defining pop-aligned bands, weaving forward-thinking sounds with nods to the artists that shaped each member’s relationship to music from their earliest days. For the first eight years of the band’s existence, second vocalist Mcoy Fundales contributed to every era of the group’s output, from their earliest local club shows to their breakout commercial success, remaining a core part of the lineup until the group’s pause on all activity at the end of 2007.
