Ang Katulad Mong Walang Katulad emerges from the decades-long creative arc of Orange & Lemons, a Filipino band whose cross-generational sound has redefined what homegrown pop and alternative rock can achieve, rooted firmly in the Philippines’ vibrant independent music scene, aligned with the pop framework that anchors all of the group’s output. The band first formed in 1999, founded by singer-songwriter and guitarist Clem Castro alongside drummer Ace Del Mundo and Ace’s brother JM del Mundo, who took up bass. From its earliest days, the group wove together a unique sonic tapestry that pulled from alternative rock, indie pop, and experimental music, drawing deep influence from revered acts spanning multiple generations, including UK post-punk pioneers The Smiths, the timeless songcraft of The Beatles, and local Filipino icons The Eraserheads.
