About this Song
R&B occupies a unique, enduring space within the Philippines’ diverse national music ecosystem, a genre that has been adapted, reimagined, and woven into the fabric of local creative expression for decades, holding space for both universal sonic themes and distinctly local perspectives that resonate with audiences far beyond the archipelago’s borders. The sound at the center of Opposites Attract emerges from this rich, interconnected lineage, positioning itself as part of an ongoing wave of Philippine R&B that honors the genre’s global roots while contributing to its continuous evolution as a vehicle for exploring the nuances of human connection, the very theme that gives the work its name.
