About this Song
R&B has occupied a central, evolving space within Philippine music for decades, shaping the creative output of generations of creators who have drawn from the genre’s global lineage while reimagining its core structures to align with the cultural priorities and creative sensibilities of audiences across the archipelago. What began as a form imported through global radio and physical media circulations in the mid-to-late 20th century quickly took root as more than a borrowed trend, emerging as a foundational form that local creators could adapt to tell stories specific to their own lives, communities, and experiences.
