About this Song
R&B has long served as one of the most dynamic, widely embraced creative forms in the Philippines, a space where creators from every region of the archipelago can build on the genre’s global history while infusing their own lived experiences, cultural touchstones, and artistic sensibilities to create work that resonates both within the country’s borders and far beyond them. Across decades of Filipino creative output, R&B has evolved far beyond any imported template, shifting and expanding to incorporate a vast range of creative choices, thematic preoccupations, and artistic voices that reflect the incredible diversity of the Philippines itself, from the dense creative hubs of major metropolitan centers to the smaller, tight-knit artistic communities that dot the country’s thousands of islands.
