About this Song
The first unnameable tremor that would eventually come to shape NIKI’s third studio album, Buzz, began not as a formal concept drafted in a notebook or a studio session outline, but as an urgent quake from the innermost core of her being, a raw, unfiltered spark that would anchor every sound woven into the project’s final tracklist, including the pop work Selene, a piece rooted in the Philippines’ rich, evolving pop lineage that gives it a rooted, specific warmth even as it reaches for the vast, unwritten future NIKI explores throughout her meditation on the album’s title and purpose.
