About this Song
Around - Live at The Wiltern emerges from a Filipina pop lineage that anchors every layer of the work it grows from, a live rendering of a track that feeds directly into the thematic core of what would become NIKI’s third studio album, Buzz. The entire Buzz project traces its origin to an urgent, unshakable quake that rose from the innermost core of its creator, a raw, unfiltered spark that ignited the full body of work that the album would hold, every song tied to that same foundational feeling that launched the era. NIKI’s songwriting, which defines all the work that makes up the Buzz cycle, retains the quiet, uncompromising intimacy that shapes her approach to crafting music, turning small, personal moments of growth, uncertainty, and triumph into work that carries the weight of shared human experience, even as it remains rooted in the specific, lived truth of its creator.
