About this Song
Rooted in the long, evolving lineage of R&B that has taken root and flourished across Southeast Asia, Filipino R&B occupies a unique space that weaves core structural and thematic throughlines of the global genre with the specific cultural and emotional sensibilities that define creative output from the Philippines. This branch of R&B does not merely replicate the trends that shape mainstream R&B from other global markets, but instead reframes those foundations to speak to the lived experiences of audiences both within the archipelago and the vast global Filipino diaspora, which stretches across every inhabited continent, carrying with it a hunger for creative work that reflects the specific nuances of Filipino identity, connection, and longing.
