About this Song
Rooted in the Philippines’ longstanding and evolving ecosystem of recorded R&B, this sound carries the core identity of a genre that has thrived across local creative communities for generations, centering the title Every Breath You Take as its core artistic work. R&B as a framework for musical expression in the Philippines has always drawn from both the foundational traditions that define the genre globally and the unique cultural threads that shape creative output from creators working across the archipelago, creating a space where the formal boundaries of the genre bend to accommodate the specific perspectives of those building work within the country’s creative landscape. This sound, classified firmly within the broad umbrella of R&B, exists as part of a larger continuum of work from Filipino creators that engage with R&B’s core identities, while bringing their own unmissable perspectives to every choice that shapes the final work.
