About this Song
Pop as a global creative form draws its most enduring, resonant texture from the specific local contexts that nurture each iteration, even as it shares core structural traits that connect it to listeners across vast geographic and cultural borders. The sound Always, rooted in the Philippines, expands on that longstanding pattern, weaving the broad accessibility that defines pop with the unspoken cultural nuances that ground all creative work emerging from the archipelago’s interconnected, thriving creative ecosystem. For generations, creative communities across the Philippines have engaged with pop not as a foreign import to replicate, but as a flexible framework that can be shaped to carry the specific lived experiences, relational values, and expressive sensibilities that define life across the country’s hundreds of inhabited islands.
