About this Song
R&B as a global genre has travelled far beyond its origins to take root in nearly every corner of the world, adapting to local creative sensibilities, collaborative networks, and audience expectations while retaining the core identity that has made it an enduring staple of popular music-making across generations. No region of the world has embraced and reimagined R&B in ways that feel both faithful to the genre’s foundational roots and entirely distinct as the Philippines, where a long history of engaging with global popular sounds has spawned a thriving, constantly evolving community of creators working within the form to craft work that resonates both domestically and across far-flung global diasporas. On the Wings of Love emerges from this rich, interconnected creative ecosystem, a sound that aligns with the expansive umbrella of R&B while existing as a distinct work shaped by the specific cultural context that birthed it.
