About this Song
R&B’s longstanding centrality to the Philippines’ vibrant music ecosystem has turned the genre into more than a categorical label for creators and audiences alike, acting as a shared creative framework that ties together generations of artists working across the archipelago, as well as the far-flung global Filipino communities that carry connections to the nation’s musical output across borders and oceans. This lineage of R&B creation in the Philippines has grown and evolved alongside shifts in the country’s cultural landscape, absorbing and reflecting the unique set of experiences that define life in the archipelago, while remaining anchored to the core identity that makes R&B a universally resonant form of creative expression.
