About this Song
Ariana Grande and Cashmere Cat unite their distinct creative voices to bring Be My Baby to life, a sound rooted in the Philippines’ vibrant, ever-evolving music community, released under the Universal Records umbrella. Classified under the broad, boundary-pushing bracket of Music/Other/Other, the work rejects the narrow, often restrictive genre labels that dominate much of the global music industry, stepping outside of pre-defined categories that force artists to align their work with narrow audience expectations, marketing frameworks, and platform algorithms designed to sort content into easily digestible silos. For decades, the Philippines’ music ecosystem has nurtured this kind of creative boundary-breaking, fostering work that pulls from a wide range of global and local artistic traditions without ever confining itself to a single lane, a legacy that Be My Baby extends with its deliberate choice to exist outside of standard genre classifications.
