About this Song
Cross-genre sonic experimentation thrives in the Philippines’ thriving independent music space, and Porte’s I Lose Control exemplifies that inventive energy, merging two of the last decade’s most influential global creative sounds—afrobeat and amapiano—into a work that draws from pan-global sonic traditions while rooting itself firmly in the vibrant creative ecosystem of its home country. The sound finds its audience through Music For You, the leading online tastemaker channel founded on a simple, unwavering mission to lift up artists and music its team genuinely loves. What began as a passion project for a group of fans dedicated to sharing underheard work has grown into one of the most influential YouTube channels in its space, drawing audiences from across the globe who turn to the platform to discover work that doesn’t fit neatly into mainstream algorithmic curation buckets.
