About this Song
Sonic traditions that began to coalesce across continental African scenes decades ago, from the polyrhythmic backbone of Afrobeat to the rolling, bass-driven pulse of amapiano, have long traveled far beyond their initial geographic borders, taking root in creative communities across the globe to be reworked, reimagined, and layered with new perspectives that breathe fresh life into the core sounds that define them. One such iteration, Amir Nazari - Trust Divine, emerges from the vibrant Filipino creative ecosystem, weaving the core signatures of its dual genres into a work that reflects both the global reach of contemporary African-rooted popular music and the way local creators everywhere engage with the sounds that move them, turning influences that travel thousands of miles into work that feels entirely their own.
