About this Song
Rock and roll, as a form that has always adapted to the specific cultural geographies it lands in, finds a distinctly rooted iteration in the Philippines, where local practitioners of the genre have long used its raw structural core to channel the quiet and loud anxieties that define daily life across the archipelago’s thousands of islands, turning a genre born of transatlantic exchange into a vessel for experiences that can only be named and held in the specific context of the communities that shape it here.
