About this Song
The term that anchors this work, pasalubong, carries a quiet, unbroken resonance across the Philippines, where the practice of bringing small, meaningful tokens of care back to loved ones after any length of time away is woven into the fabric of everyday life, turning even the most casual trip to a neighboring town or the longest journey across an ocean into an act of intentional connection that lingers long after the suitcase has been unpacked and the contents shared. As a pop work rooted in that same national context, Pasalubong - feat. Moira Dela Torre carries that same core of intentional connection, translating the quiet, layered emotion of the tradition it is named for into the accessible, deeply relatable framework that defines pop as a global genre, while remaining unshakably tied to the specific cultural soil that gave its title its meaning.
