About this Song
After the breakout momentum of his career-defining Tanong EP, which laid the groundwork for every milestone that would elevate his profile across the Philippines and beyond, turning green arrives as a new pop entry in the expanding catalogue of alternative city pop singer-songwriter Maki, whose work balances disarmingly approachable, melodic craft with the raw, unflinching heartbreak that defines his most beloved output. His biggest 2023 track, “Saan?”, marked a turning point in that trajectory, a song that resonated so deeply with both local and international audiences that it took Maki to corners of his home country he might never have imagined visiting as an up-and-coming songwriter working to share his music with the world.
