About this Song
Pop as a genre from the Philippines has long thrived on its ability to wrap sharp, deeply personal emotional truth in melodies that feel welcoming and accessible to a wide range of listeners, and turning green emerges from that vibrant, storied lineage, rooted in the same commitment to balancing broad appeal with unvarnished feeling that has pushed many of the country’s most beloved contemporary artists to find audiences half a world away. The track comes from Maki, the alternative and city pop singer-songwriter whose discography is defined by an easy, melodic lilt that draws listeners in before the raw core of his writing reveals itself.
