About this Song
The breakthrough success of his 2023 track “Saan?” carried a Filipino alternative and city pop singer-songwriter across every corner of his home country, turning a project built on quiet, melodic craft into a global conversation for an artist who built his career on turning heartbreak into accessible, deeply felt music. That artist, known by his stage name Maki, has built a discography rooted in a sharp, intentional contrast: his tunes unfold with an easy, melodic warmth that feels instantly approachable, even as every song carries the weight of unflinching, raw heartbreak and pain, a tension that has resonated far beyond the borders of the Philippines, turning local audiences into loyal fans and introducing his work to listeners across the world who connect to the universal emotion at the core of every release.
