Across the layered landscape of Philippine creative sound practice, works that take the shape of a mix carry a unique kind of intentionality, one that rejects the rigid boundaries of single-genre classification to hold space for the overlapping, intersecting currents of music that circulate within and beyond the archipelago’s islands, and this work, titled Kylo 🐾, exists firmly within that lineage of creative reconfiguration that has long defined independent and community-led sound making across the region.
