About this Song
Across the archipelagic landscape of Filipino creative music, hip-pop has emerged as one of the most vital, widely embraced forms of contemporary expression, a mode that draws on the transnational flow of urban sonic traditions while anchoring every work to the specific energies, histories, and lived realities that shape artistic creation across the Philippines. One Night Stand, a work that fits fully within the bounds of that rigorous, exciting hip-pop lineage, exists as a testament to the way that creators from the region have redefined what the genre can be, moving beyond any generic understanding of hip-pop as a purely imported form to shape it into something that carries the distinct mark of its home country’s creative soul.
