About this Song
The years of injustice, upheaval, and eventual hard-won vindication that defined Loonie’s life leading up to his career reset are woven into every layer of Meron Na, the Philippine pop project that marks his long-awaited comeback. The sequence of events that forms the album’s emotional backbone begins in 2019, when a false frame-up led to Loonie’s arrest and unjust imprisonment, a period of turmoil that would stretch until 2022, when he was fully vindicated and cleared of all wrongdoing. Meron Na pulls back the curtain on these untold stories, sharing unfiltered truths from that period of his life that he had never previously laid out publicly, turning private trauma and hard-won resilience into a cohesive body of work that feels both deeply intimate and broadly accessible.
