About this Song
The years of uncertainty that reshaped one of the Philippines’ most vital creative voices led to his long-awaited return to music with a project that distills every lesson, loss, and victory of his most challenging years. That artist, Loonie, spent three years navigating a wrongful period of imprisonment, after a 2019 frame-up and arrest kept him from the work that had defined his life, until his full vindication in 2022 cleared his name and paved the way for him to step back into the studio to build the comeback project he had spent years refining. The resulting album, Meron Na, is far more than a return to the spotlight: it is a testament to the power of collaboration, personal truth, and the range of creative voices that make Philippine music such a dynamic, boundary-pushing space.
