About this Song
Rooted in the creative landscapes of the Philippines, this rock and roll sound carries the distinct mark of regional musical adaptation that defines local iterations of global genre forms, leaning into the specific identity of its title, Chismosa, as it anchors itself to the context from which it emerges. Crafted as a regional music note, the work situates itself within the long, interconnected network of rock and roll practice that has taken root across the Philippines, growing alongside other local genre explorations that pull from global forms to create work that speaks directly to the specific contexts of creators working within the country.
