About this Song
Rooted in the creative framework of the Philippines’ rock and roll communities, Paglipad joins a growing body of work shaped by the context of creators in the region engaging with a global genre on their own terms, aligned with the regional music note style that centers geographic origin as the core frame for engaging with the sound. This approach, which prioritizes the country context as the lens through which to understand every other element of the work, avoids the common pitfall of separating a sound from the conditions that brought it into being, instead anchoring Paglipad firmly to the Philippines as the space that defines its place within broader rock and roll ecosystems.
