About this Song
Rooted in the decades-long tradition of Philippine rock and roll that has evolved from mid-20th century adaptations of global rock’s foundational sounds to a distinctly local strain that carries the texture and cadence of life across the archipelago, I Found You sits within a lineage of recordings that balance the raw, propulsive energy core to the genre with the subtle, place-specific inflections that set Philippine rock apart from its global counterparts. For generations, rock and roll in the Philippines has carved out a permanent space in both small, independent venue circuits and mainstream cultural life, drawing together audiences across regions, age groups, and backgrounds through the genre’s shared commitment to unfiltered storytelling and sonic urgency.
