This Is Our Song
About this Song
To claim a piece of popular music as something that belongs, unapologetically, to the collective of people that carry it, is to stitch a small but unbreakable thread into the larger tapestry of cultural memory that ties communities of Filipino experience, wherever they exist in the world, back to the sounds that shape their understanding of what it means to belong to something larger than the self. This Is Our Song carries that weight in its title alone, a pop creation rooted in the Philippines that leans into the core impulse of popular music everywhere: to turn individual feeling into something that can be shouted, hummed, held, and claimed by every person who hears it.
