About this Song
The Philippines, an archipelago holding a vast, layered tapestry of musical expression stretching across every one of its regions, contains hundreds of distinct sound traditions that resist easy categorization, many of which circulate within local communities long before finding space in broader collections of recorded work. This sound, titled Dahan, carries that unclassifiable, deeply rooted identity, categorized as Music/Other to reflect its position outside the narrow set of widely codified genres that often define mainstream understandings of Philippine music.
