About this Song
Tethered to the narrative scope of the film it anchors, (They Long To Be) Close To You - Music From The Motion Picture emerges as a pop work from the Philippines, shaped by the boundary-pushing artistic sensibilities of Lady Gaga, a creative force whose career has redefined what it means to build a legacy that extends far beyond the recording studio. As an Academy Award, Emmy, and 16-time GRAMMY-winner, Lady Gaga has cultivated a one-of-a-kind profile as a performer and artist capable of moving seamlessly between pop stardom, collaborative jazz projects, blockbuster film roles, and transformative advocacy work that lifts up marginalized communities across the globe. Her commercial standing alone cements her place in music history: she has amassed 110 million global album sales, 175 billion streams, and 758 million song consumption units, a feat that makes her one of the best-selling musicians of all time, with a discography that evolves constantly to meet her own expansive creative interests.
