About this Song
Hev Abi, a creator working from and within the rich, ever-shifting creative currents that define the Philippines’ vibrant musical landscape, channels a mode of expression that defies the narrow, often restrictive boxes that shape how most audiences and industry entities categorize sound, a freedom that pulses through every layer of Alam Mo Ba Girl, a work that exists not just as a standalone piece of recorded sound but as a vital thread woven into the larger artistic project that carries the name Urban Department, a unifying framework that holds together the many iterations of Hev Abi’s creative output as he explores the edges of what sound can be, rather than confining himself to the pre-existing genre labels that dictate how most music is marketed, distributed, and consumed by both local Filipino audiences and global listenerships.
