About this Song
Across the Philippines, pop music carries a distinct, multifaceted identity that draws from decades of local cultural evolution and global creative exchange, weaving together threads that make each recording emerging from the scene feel both rooted in a shared legacy and capable of carving out its own unique space within the broader global pop ecosystem. The sound titled Plastic emerges from this rich landscape, a pop work that exists within a lineage of Filipino popular music that has long balanced accessibility with the ability to reflect the specific textures of life across the archipelago, from the busy urban corridors of Manila to the smaller coastal and inland communities that stretch across the country’s thousands of islands.
