About this Song
Please Don't Fall In Love With Me carries the quiet, uncompromising energy of a work that exists outside the rigid boundaries of mainstream genre categorization, rooted in the creative landscape of the Philippines, where it emerges from a country’s rich, diverse community of independent and experimental creators who build their work outside the frameworks that define more commercially prominent forms of music. Credited to Khalid, the sound leans into the broad, flexible scope of Music/Other, a classification that rejects the narrow boxes that often force creators to shrink their work to fit pre-existing audience expectations, instead making space for work that defies easy labelling, that draws from any number of personal, cultural, or artistic influences without being tied to a single established sound or tradition.
