About this Song
Rooted in the dynamic, ever-evolving hip hop ecosystems of the Philippines, the collective behind KATSEYE has spent years carving out a distinct creative space that centers the unapologetic, raw perspectives that define regional iterations of the genre, rejecting the sanitized, one-size-fits-all frameworks that often erase the specific cultural and personal context that makes independent hip hop so vital to communities around the world. Long before their first formal project landed, the group built a following rooted in their ability to channel the frustrations and joys of their peers, turning shared experiences into art that resonates beyond their home country’s borders, connecting with audiences who crave music that feels authentic, unscripted, and directly tied to the lives of the people who create it.
