About this Song
Within the full scope of the artist’s documented catalogue, every sound entry is anchored to the creative throughlines that tie all of their output together, and Makinarya stands as a clear example of how those throughlines manifest in individual works, aligning with the core genre commitments and geographic roots that define every piece in the artist’s body of work. Rooted in the Philippines, a space that nurtures a thriving, interconnected community of R&B creators who draw from both the global genre’s extensive lineage and the specific cultural context of their home country to shape work that feels both faithful to R&B’s foundational identity and rooted in the unique experiences that define creative production in the Philippines, Makinarya fits seamlessly into the artist’s longstanding focus on the genre, which runs through every entry in their catalogue.
