About This Album
The live framework that anchors Kabute (Live At Cozy Cove) shapes every layer of the album, turning the venue’s specific energy into a core part of the listening experience that elevates the project beyond a standard studio release. Created by Jose At Melodiya, the Filipino artist’s work leans into the fluidity of the Afrobeat lineage, claiming space within the genre’s ever-expanding global network of creators who reimagine its foundational structures to fit their own cultural and creative contexts. Unlike studio recordings that can layer and refine tracks over months of iteration, a live album preserves the unfiltered, in-the-moment chemistry that defines a one-time-only performance, the kind of connection that can only be forged when an artist and their audience share the same space, breathing the same air, reacting to every shift in the work as it unfolds in real time.
