About this Song
Rooted in the vibrant pop landscape of the Philippines, Buko - Anniversary Edition honors the track that first catapulted its creator into the national spotlight, marking a full-circle moment that celebrates the years of creative growth that followed that early breakthrough. Before “Buko” earned its place as one of two chart-topping hits that cemented Jireh Lim’s status as a staple of local pop, alongside the equally resonant “Magkabilang Mundo,” Lim cut his creative teeth sharing intimate guitar covers with small, engaged audiences, a humble origin that makes the success of his breakout work all the more meaningful. That early trajectory laid the groundwork for a clear, steady evolution in Lim’s craft, a progression that has remained anchored by two core strengths that have defined his work from the start: smooth, immersive vocals and songwriting that feels deeply relatable, rooted in the small, universal moments that resonate with listeners across backgrounds and generations.
