About this Song
The quiet, unignorable revolution that IV of Spades stoked across the Filipino music landscape grew from a simple, radical commitment: to bring sounds, styles, and stories that had rarely found a home in mainstream pop to audiences that spanned every generation, turning long-held assumptions about what local homegrown music could achieve on its own terms into relics of a past era. Suliranin, the pop work rooted in the Philippines’ vibrant OPM lineage, emerges from that singular creative framework, a piece of art that carries all the band’s signature commitment to rejecting generic, one-size-fits-all tropes in favor of a layered, multifaceted sound that weaves together retro flourishes, funk-driven rhythm, rock’s raw energy, and the modern, culturally rooted perspective that defines the best of the country’s original new music.
