About this Song
Long before they cemented their status as one of the most transformative forces in the Philippines’ contemporary music landscape, the collective that would rewrite the rules of local pop set out to reject generic, one-note artistic choices in favor of work that carries unexpected, unapologetically original sonic identity. What set this group apart from every other act working in their era was their refusal to limit themselves to the narrow bounds of any single genre, instead weaving together a range of influences that allowed them to speak to every corner of the national listening audience. They brought uncommon sounds, styles, and stories to every project they touched, rejecting formulaic structures to create work that felt fresh and unanticipated even as it drew from longstanding traditions in homegrown music.
