About this Song
Other as a creative category rejects the narrow boxes that often force music to fit preexisting narratives of sound, lineage, and audience expectation, framing work that exists outside the established tropes that define most mainstream and independent classifications alike. That boundary-pushing ethos anchors PWEDE BANG?, the sound from Filipino creator Hev Abi that occupies the unlabeled, uncategorized space that the Other genre designation was built to hold, created and shared from the artist’s home base in the Philippines, a country with a rich, varied musical landscape that has long nurtured creators who refuse to limit their work to what critics or audiences might expect from artists hailing from the region.
