About this Song
Rooted in the decades-long, continuously evolving tradition of R&B creation emerging from the Philippines, a scene that has contributed some of the most nuanced, enduring work in the global genre over the past half century, I’ll Be over You fits neatly within the bounds of a style that has long resonated deeply with audiences both within the archipelago and across the global Filipino diaspora, a community that carries a deep connection to the sounds created by creators based in their home country, and that seeks out R&B in particular as a medium that can carry both personal and collective narrative across geographic boundaries.
