About this Song
Drive anchors itself in the rich, expansive lineage of Filipino R&B, a sound that draws from decades of creative exchange within the Philippines’ vibrant local music ecosystem, where R&B has long served as a canvas for creative expression that balances global sonic traditions with the distinct cultural textures that define work made by creators rooted in the archipelago. To engage with Drive is to engage with a work that exists within a genre that has thrived across the Philippines’ creative communities, adapting and evolving to carry the perspectives of creators who build on the core foundations of R&B while weaving in the subtle, context-specific layers that make work originating from the nation stand out as a vital part of the global R&B landscape.
