Gloc-9, a Filipino rapper, singer, and songwriter from Binangonan, Rizal, Philippines, is widely recognized as a trailblazer and enduring figure in the Pinoy Hip-Hop scene. He is celebrated as one of the best Filipino rappers of all time, known for his fast-flowing "chopper" vocal style, which fellow Filipino rapper Francis Magalona once described as that of "a blacksmith of words and letters, and a true Filipino poet." His musical journey began in the 1990s with the gangsta rap group Death Threat, leading to his solo debut album, *G9*, in 2003 under Star Music. Gloc-9's discography showcases a range of styles, from the more laid-back R&B sound of his 2005 album *Ako Si...* to the nu-metal-esque elements found in songs like "The Task Is Done" and "Torpedo" from his 2007 album *Diploma*. His albums *MKNM: Mga Kwento Ng Makata* (2012) and *Liham at Lihim* (2013) have achieved Gold and Platinum certifications, respectively, from the Philippine Association of the Record Industry (PARI).
