About this Song
From the Philippines, fitterkarma’s "Pag-Ibig ay Kanibalismo II" showcases the alternative rock band’s blend of indie rock, alternative rock, and art rock, a sound that incorporates acoustic and electric guitars alongside warm vocals. The band, formed in 2023 by students from the De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde's music production program, originally began as a solo endeavor by Joao de Leon in 2019. Its name, stylized in all lowercase, combines titles from Radiohead’s 1997 album *OK Computer*: "Fitter Happier" and "Karma Police." The band rebranded as Fitterkarma in 2023, partly due to the difficulty of marketing and pronouncing Joao de Leon's name. The current lineup includes Joao de Leon (vocals/guitar), Sophia Miranda (bass/backing vocals), Sanders Bayas (drums), and Mikee Mendoza (guitar/backing vocals), though former members Addy Pantig and Calvin Borja contributed vocals to "Pag-Ibig ay Kanibalismo II." This song originated in 2024 as part of Joao de Leon's thesis EP for his music production degree.
